The Alienware brand is synonymous with pre-built gaming desktops and laptops, so it's a bit surprising the company has never ventured into the realm of monitors. That's about to change with the release of its very first gaming monitor; the Alienware 25 (See it on Dell.com). For its initial foray the company has decided to take direct aim at the eSports market with a blisteringly fast 24.5-inch TN panel with an outrageous 240hz refresh rate, making it ideal for fast-paced, twitch gaming. The company is offering two versions; one with AMD's FreeSync (AW2518HF), and one with Nvidia's G-Sync functionality (AW2518H), and of course the G-Sync version, which I am reviewing here, costs $200 more. It features a slick, futuristic aesthetic that's likely to appeal to fans of the brand, but its 1920x1080 resolution and whopping $600 price tag may place it just out of reach for anyone but die-hard enthusiasts and eSports professionals.
