Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.
Bookended by Daryl and Carol's new split over the sanctity of life (or, at least, her no longer wanting to kill), "Twice as Far" tried to be many things. It had moments of comedy. It was a meditative, atmospheric "run" episode. It furthered the Saviors storyline (they now know where Alexandria is - *gulp*). And it circled things back to some earlier series dynamics - like Eugene and Abraham's past falling out and Carol's first exile.
So maybe it tried to have too many different components. Though maybe, without Rick (this one was Rick-less - yup!), that's the way it had to be. And using the format of two groups going out on separate did help give it some shape. I was a little bummed that we didn't learn more about Rosita, as the episode felt like it was leaning toward that, but I did enjoy Denise's time outside the gates. Even though it ended rather badly for her. It's been a while since we've watched someone experience the horror of the outside world with fresh eyes, so I liked her trying to absorb it all. And then I also enjoyed learning about how she wanted to head out there because she regretted not being able to go along with Tara.
