Divinity: Original Sin 2 wants fans to pick a special character for the game

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

Getting the public involved in any type of "feedback" activity can lead to some really strange results (*cough* Boaty McBoatface). But Larian Studios has decided to get the public involved anyway to choose a new character for Divinity: Original Sin 2 that would be available only to people who bought the game through GOG. At least they have the names picked out already.

Back in October, the company asked for help in creating a unique quest for a character. They apparently got some great feedback and created three characters for fans to choose from:

  • Doryld "The Doryld" Surpass: On a soapbox in the town square, the madman messiah proclaims his divinity. He is the new Divine! His audience of three, two of whom are drunk (the other may be you), ask for proof of his powers. He resists. They insist.

  • Fadeland Johns: The veteran masked adventurer drones on about her exploits in the old world. How the young people of today don't know nothin'. She's going out into the world to show 'em how adventure is done proper. Just as soon as she finishes this drink.

  • Eithne: You encounter Eithne - masked and cloaked - weighed down with a massive rucksack of knowledge. She has books to trade and books to sell - mostly rare and arcane knowledge better left unlearnt...

Voting begins today at GOG.com and ends on April 27.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 breezed through it's Kickstarter goal of $500,000 last August, collecting more than $2 million. Larian is pushing toward a release in December of this year on PC.
