This week’s Agents of SHIELD had a notably sluggish first half. The dueling lab scenes between SHIELD and Radcliffe (makeshift lab though it may be for him) added to just way too much time spent where people talked about different experiments they were going to attempt.
Also, it was amusing to suddenly have Mack and May accompanied by four random SHIELD agents we’d ever seen before. The show plays fast and loose with just how many people Coulson is in charge of these days, with some scenes including non-speaking extras, some not. But by and large the missions are always done by the main cast, so it just felt very odd to this week throw in a few extra people – none of whom got redshirted, amazingly!
