Spider-Man fans will forever argue over which villain is the franchise's best, but for most people, it comes down to either Norman Osborn or Doctor Octopus. Dan Slott's long Spider-Man run has made a strong case for the latter, particularly during the Superior Spider-Man days. But as Slott gets ready to cap off 10 years of Spidey stories, he may just be able to weave the same magic for Osborn.
This issue kicks off Slott and artist Stuart Immonen's final storyline, "Go Down Swinging." As recent issues have shown, Osborn has now bonded with the Carnage symbiote in a desperate attempt to reclaim the insanity Spider-Man stole from him. Needless to say, that's not a winning combination for Spidey. And as with so many great Osborn-driven stories in the past, it's really Peter Parker's loved ones who suffer the most.
