Episode 69, "An Unpleasant Talk," begins in a curious fashion, with Deku, Red Riot, Uravity, and Froppy called to a mysterious gathering with no idea what to expect. In addition to finding a slew of pro heroes assembled at Sir Nighteye's office, they also encounter the Big Three, Gran Torino, and even their teacher Eraser Head. Will this lead to an action-packed episode, a funny escapade, or a dramatic raising of the stakes?
It turns out to be mostly the third option, but with a caveat: in the episode’s first half, the stakes are raised, but in a very uneventful and clunky way. After our four members of Class 1-A arrive at this heroic meeting, a discussion surrounding the new villains of the season gets underway, with Sir Nighteye explaining what we know so far about Shie Hassaikai, their leader Chisaki (Overhaul), and their plans involving a quirk-stopping drug and how it is procured.
