Halo 5: Guardians players can now create 3D figures of their in-game Spartans

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

The concept of 3D printing has taken off in recent years. The gaming world has also stepped into this world with certain games allowing for the 3D printing of a user's in-game character. While several high-profile titles, like Smite, World of Tanks, and Infinity Blade, have had this feature available, arguably the biggest gaming franchise yet is throwing its hat behind the 3D printing phenomenon, with Halo 5: Guardians now allowing users to print out 3D Spartan figurines.

As with the aforementioned titles, the figurine prints will be done through Sandboxr and its proprietary 3D printing customization platform, as well as through 3D Systems' full color 3D printing tech. Users will be able to design a Spartan using the avaialble cosmetic packs they've unlocked over the course of Halo 5: Guardians. These cosmetic pieces can be found through the game's REQ packs that can be picked up with in-game currency.

The video below was issued last week, but the 3D customization has been made available today. Figures will run for $29.99. To create a 3D Spartan, visit Halo Waypoint and log into your Xbox Live account.
