In Tom Hooper's The Danish Girl we find the actor playing a married, successful, painter and the Danish girl of the title, Lili Elbe, who was born as Einar Wegener. Alicia Vikander is Gerda, Einar's wife. Also a painter, Gerda is a rather less successful one.
