Killing Floor 2 will soon support microtransactions for cosmetic-only gear

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

Tripwire Interactive has revealed it will be adding a new in-game store and item system to Killing Floor 2 that will only offer cosmetic changes.

The in-game store is being called The Trading Floor and will sell new weapon skins, outfits, and outfit skins that will be available to purchase with real-world money, although the studio says many of these items will be given out for free through an in-game drop system. Once a player obtains these dropped items, they can either sell them on the Trading Floor, trade them with a friend, or just use it to have their character sport a new look.

Tripwire assures nothing that’s available within The Trading Floor will affect the way Killing Floor 2 is played, and it plans to continue to keep it that way. The money generated from the sales of these items will go towards the continued support of the game, which the studio says will send us to “new and ever-more exotic locations.”
