The Teen Titans take the stage in the latest of DC's Rebirth prologues, though after a ten year, memory muddled hiatus, the "teen" moniker no longer seems to apply. Dan Abnett and Brett Booth offer everything a Titans fan wants and more, though new readers may be left waiting for the full series to start.
Much like Barry Allen tied things together during DC's Flashpoint days, Wally West is one of the clear linchpins to DC's Rebirth. As such, the characters place in this newly returned universe stands out as being of particular importance, something that writer Abnett addresses from the opening page. Of all the characters currently starting over, Wally is the only one who remembers what he's lost. That gives the character an immediate depth that Abnett fully takes advantage of, as over the course of the issue Wally is forced to contend with the very people who forgot him in the first place. In that way, Titans: Rebirth #1 is most in line with DC's latest direction, as its less concerned with moving forward so much as it is returning to what once was.
