Xbox One video explains backwards compatibility process

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

Backwards compatibility is coming to Xbox One, with over 100 supported Xbox 360 games set to be revealed next week. With dozens of previous-generation classics on their way, Xbox Live's Larry 'Major Nelson' Hyrb has put together a video to explain exactly how this process is going to work.

Hyrb reiterates much of what we had previously heard during the E3 2015 closed door presentation, noting that discs are fully usable, online packets need to be downloaded, online multiplayer will be supported, and that supported digital games will automatically appear in a user's library.

Hyrb also goes over some other things that users should know before the big launch. The biggest one being that user saves will carry over, but they must first be uploaded to the cloud. If they aren't, it might be time to boot up the Xbox 360 one last time and upload them now.

The full list of backwards compatible games will be posted to the Xbox website as they arrive.
