Battleborn introduces three new characters to its ever-expanding roster

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

2K and Gearbox Software are introducing three new Battleborn Heroes: Shayne and Aurox, Whiskey Foxtrot, and Kelvin.

Shayne and Aurox are a combination unit as somehow, the angsty teenage girl Shayne has somehow bonded with a large monster called Aurox. In fact, Aurox serves as Shayne’s main melee weapon, as well as a shield of sorts. She’s also able to use her trust boomerang in order to pick off enemies from a distance, has a cloaking ability, and can use Aurox to pull enemies closer to her. Their Tag Team ability has Shayne instructing Aurox to teleport to her target to unleash his rage, and then disappear.

Whiskey Foxtrot is suspected to have some ties to some off-shoot Peacekeeper unit as he uses reverse-engineered Peacekeeper technology, although it’s unknown if it was scavenged or cobbled together piece by piece. Whiskey uses a Homemade UPR-SL3 tactical rifle to take down his opponents three shots at a time. He also has a number of additional military-grade weaponry, including Sticky Bombs and a Scrap Canon and can power up hi  rifle with Overdrive, which loads an overstuffed clip that can be fully fired automatically. His Combat Rhythm gives him a boost to his attack damage after killing an enemy.

Kelvin is more than just a large Ice Golem as it’s really an entire, sentient microorganism within its huge body and is really intelligent. its main weapon are its Ice Fists which can cause area of effect damage when it pounds the ground, and can turn into a gaseous cloud for a few seconds with Sublimate while chilling anything in its way. That’s not the only ice-themed attack it has as use power that’s been stored up to create an impassable Ice Wall, which will stun nearby enemies and gains a Permafrost shield boost any time it activates one of its abilities. Its Chomp is pretty devastating as it bites an enemy and uses their health against them. If Kelvin kills its opponent with Chomp, it’ll get a permanent increase to its health.

Battleborn will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 3, 2016.
