Transistor's Red Figure is absolutely perfect

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

Considering how much I love Super Giant Games’ Transistor, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to purchase its Red Collectible Figure when it was announced last month. My Red figure came in a few days ago, but I was only able to open it up and take some pictures this morning.

The Red vinyl figure was created in collaboration with Welovefine, and even though it cost $35 + shipping, there’s nice amount of detail and feels somewhat premium. I say that as someone who has purchased figures of anime and video game characters that are priced well over $100, so I know what a really premium figure looks and feels like. But for a figure below $50, this is a great piece.

As you can see from the images below, Red is wearing her signature dress, overcoat, and her hair is done up, just how it was in the game. She’s also holding the Transistor behind her and looks pretty much identical to its game counterpart. The sword doesn’t appear to come out of Red’s hand, which makes sense considering just how much the weapon means to her. I’m able to budge her fingers a little to loosen her grip, but the last thing I want to do is break them off just to get at the sword, which probably won’t release anyways.

I really enjoyed this figure from Super Giant Games, and if you’re a fan of Transistor as much as I am, you’re going to want to keep an eye out for it as the studio plans on creating additional units to meet with its massive demand. For now, enjoy some pictures I took this morning of Red in all her vinyl glory.
