Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 double XP weekend and Multiplayer Starter Pack trial kick off today

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 received a multiplayer-only version on Steam last week, and if you didn’t get to pick it up when it launched, Activision is allowing PC players to check it out for free this weekend.

Steam users can enjoy the Multiplayer Starter Pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 from now until Monday at 10am PT. If you enjoyed your experience, you can proceed to buy the full game at a discount, as well as its Digital Deluxe version which includes the base game and its Season Pass.

If you just want the Multiplayer Starter Pack, you’re going to have to pay its full pricing as Activision decided to not offer it at a discount. It’ll be available for $14.99. If you want to own it, you better act fast as it’ll only be available for a few more days. Keep in mind the Starter Pack does not include the Zombies co-op campaign, access to mod tools, multiplayer custom games, or the opportunity to Prestige.

In addition to this weekend’s free trial of the Multiplayer Starter Pack, Black Ops 3 players can enjoy a double XP weekend across all platforms starting at 10am PT today. The double XP weekend will end on Monday at 10am PT.
