First off, apologies that this is going up two days after The Good Place season finale aired. NBC made the concluding episodes of the season available to press early with the notable exception of the final half hour, and I was unable to see it until now.
As for why the network was so secretive on that finale… Well, did you see it?!
Granted, we’re only in the first month of 2017, but we already have what looks to be one of the best TV twists we'll see this year - and it was done in an NBC half hour comedy, making it all the more impressive. With Parks and Recreation, Mike Schur delivered one of the best TV comedies ever, and now with The Good Place, he's raising the bar on how ambitious a show of this sort can be.
