Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.
When it was revealed that an upcoming Legends of Tomorrow episode would be titled “Camelot/3000,” a whole bunch of fans of the classic 80’s maxi-series Camelot 3000 suddenly had cause to be excited. Unfortunately, it turns out that the title is more an homage to that comic than a sign that it directly inspired this episode. It was probably too much to hope that The CW even had the rights to Mike Barr and Brian Bolland’s work in the first place. It’s not as if it’s a traditional, DCU-focused story. Even so, this episode made the most of the medieval setting.
The Legends continued their hunt for the fragments of the Spear of Destiny this week, with one notable new wrinkle. We learned that Rip enlisted the aid of the Justice Society, scattering tis members across time and entrusting them with pieces of the spear. This new twist not only helps give the overarching conflict a little more cohesion, it also allows the show to make use of the JSA characters who seemed all but forgotten after the first few episodes.
