Leaving behind the emotional storytelling of previous episodes, Dragon Ball Super looks to set up new storylines as the Universe Survival arc begins. Goku is back in command as we see him visit friends and set things in motion to begin the All-Universe Martial Arts Tournament. Although this episode is fairly slow, it has several interesting moments that tease us about what is to come.
Goku’s desire to train eventually leads him to wanting to set up a new All-Universe Martial Arts Tournament. This process wasn’t terribly interesting and it would’ve been easy for this episode to come off as dull, but by dumping a new tidbit about future stories in front of us every few minutes, the episode was able to keep things interesting. Bulma’s pregnancy was perhaps the most surprising of the bunch, while the conversations between Beerus and Goku made for some interesting food for thought. This isn’t the first time Beerus has spoken about his fear of Zen-Oh, and with two of them now in existence, it seems increasingly likely we will see some sort of conflict between Goku and Zen-Oh, which will surely be a spectacle to behold.
