Goku finally realizes the folly of his ways as Episode 78 deals with the ramifications of Zen-Oh’s upcoming Tournament of Power. With the threat of destruction looming on the horizon, Goku spends much of the episode seeking out allies to compete in an upcoming exhibition match against Universe 9. Episode 78 does a good job of building excitement for future episodes, although it lessens the gravity of the Tournament of Power due to Goku’s silliness.
Wasting no time, Episode 78 quickly unveils the terrible consequences for those who lose in the Tournament of Power. With the complete erasure of each universe on the line, it really hammers home what Goku had been warned about time and time again: Zen-Oh simply shouldn’t be spoken with due to just how unpredictable he can be. It’s extreme, but I look forward to seeing them deal with Zen-Oh and his plan to erase the universe of anyone who loses. No matter who wins, Goku is now responsible for sealing the fates of 11 out of the 12 universes.
