Don't Starve: Shipwrecked will be marooned on Steam Early Access in December

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

As if surviving in the wilderness wasn't enough, now it's time to survive the dangers of a deserted island. And by "deserted," of course, I mean "full of dangerous creatures that want to kill you." That's the premise of Don't Starve: Shipwrecked, an expansion to Klei's survival game that is being developed in conjunction with Below/Super Time Force developers Capybara Games, which is just about ready to set sail on Steam Early Access.

"The early access version of the game is fully playable, but there is still some work to be done. The initial version contains new seasons, creatures, biomes, and many other exciting ways to die," states the Klei website. (via Rock Paper Shotgun) "As always, during early access we will be releasing regular updates containing new content as well as tweaks and bug fixes based on your input."

There are still a few items that Klei will be working on over the course of the early access period. That includes world migration and potential (though unconfirmed) co-op play. It'll also be solely available on Steam, with standalone client, Mac, and Linux support coming later. Console versions will likewise receive this expansion later.

Don't Starve: Shipwrecked will hit Steam Early Access on December 1.
