Call of Duty has been releasing DLC packs first on Xbox platforms for several years, but that arrangement has ended and it is now time for a new era of timed exclusivity for the franchise. For those that forgot about the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC announcement made back in December, the game's Awakening DLC is ready now and it's on PS4 first.
The DLC will include four new multiplayer maps: Skyjacked, Splash, Gauntlet, and Rise. In addition to that, Awakening will offer up the first chapter of a new Zombies campaign, called Der Eisendrache.
This should play differently from the Zombies campaign from the main game, offering an all-new story taking place during WWII. The team of Richtofen, Nikolai, Takeo and Dempsey must navigate a site filled with Element 115, as well as a slew of zombies.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's Awakening DLC is available individually for $15 or as part of the game's Season Pass. Look for it to hit PC and Xbox One in a couple of weeks.
