Update: While Stainles Games officially announced Carmageddon: Max Damage was headed to Xbox One and PS4 this year, but according to its Kickstarter page, the game is also scheduled to come out on PC. Those who helped Kickstart the game will automatically receive the game for free when it's released.
Original Story:
It’s been several years since we’ve sat behind the wheel of a new Carmageddon game, but that changes today as Stainless Games has announced Carmageddon: Max Damage is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this year.
Carmageddon: Max Damage will feature more cars, more environments, and more pedestrians than previous games in the iconic series. Players can expect over 30 vehicles with their own distinctive character sitting behind the wheel, 10 large environments, and a variety of moving targets that include pedestrians in wheelchairs, cyclists, bears, and aliens.
Wait - aliens? Really? These guys come to this world to learn more about us and all we can do is run them over with our cars?
The career mode will offer six different event types, while its multiplayer mode will have four online event types. Players will be able to relive their action-packed run through the use of a action replay mode from any perspective. We guess that means we can see the complete carnage take place from the eyes of those poor, poor aliens.
Carmageddon: Max Damage is expected to release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2016. No word if a PC release is planned.
