Hitman beta opens up to PlayStation Plus members next week

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

Square Enix and IO-Interactive have released a new trailer for its upcoming Hitman game that bridges the 20-year gap between the end of its prologue and the Sanguine Fashion Show in Paris. During its Opening Cinematic, we’re treated to a number of iconic events of the previous Hitman games, showing just how deadly Agent 47 has become.

In addition to the release of the Opening Cinematic, IO-Interactive will be opening up the Hotman beta to all PlayStation Plus members on March 4, which is one week prior to the release of the game on March 11.

“Our initial beta was an extremely helpful moment for our new HITMAN game, as it gave us great insight into how the server game mechanics function under pressure. A lot of those pressure points are currently being strengthened for release,” said Hannes Seifert, studio head at IO-Interactive. “Now Sony have given us the opportunity to go even bigger to validate some of the initial things we saw. Therefore we are inviting everyone who is a PlayStation Plus member to try the same beta and you don’t have to pre-order the game. This will allow us to really stress test our server setup, which is a crucial element for us to get just right.”

If you can’t wait to experience the Prologue for yourself, check out our attempt to complete it during the initial PlayStation 4 beta a few weeks back. While we're pretty good at writing about video games, our experience with the Hitman beta shows we should never, ever attempt to become a lethal assassin.
