Harmonix continues to work towards not only catching Rock Band 4 up with songs from past games, but it is also moving the game forward with new updates. There was a free update previously planned for January, but ultimately got pushed back into this month. The good news is, that update is now ready and is scheduled to hit the game tomorrow.
The February update addresses several leaderboard elements, including the ability to post scores from the Play A Show mode. Several bug and scoring issues have been fixed, including some pesky bugs with Band Overdrive and the Freestyle Guitar Solo system. And most importantly, audio issues have been addressed for what should sound like a more "full" mix.
The update will also include a new item for the in-game Rock Shop: Raz's helmet from Psychonauts. This is Harmonix's way of celebrating Double Fine's recent crowdfunding success.
There's also new DLC on its way and tomorrow's offerings look... interesting. They're certainly popular choices, even if they're not exactly what comes to mind when thinking of four-player bands. Nonetheless, tomorrow's DLC drop will include:
- Daft Punk ft. Pharrell Williams - "Get Lucky"
- Kelly Clarkson - "Heartbeat Song"
- Outkast - "Hey Ya!"
Those tracks will go for $1.99 each. Harmonix is also promising new songs from Bruno Mars, Five Finger Death Punch, Generation X, J. Geils Band, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, masaya matsuura, Motörhead, Orleans, Royal Blood, and Zac Brown Band. The exact tracks haven't been revealed, but look for these artists and bands to be represented in Rock Band throughout the month of February.
Finally, for those that missed it, it should be noted that Rock Band 1 disc imports are still ready to go. Since the time of that post, Xbox One imports have opened up for business.
