The Magicians: "Impractical Applications" Review

The Magicians is all about character building in "Impractical Applications" as Brakebills culls its new students to only keep the best of the best, and Quentin, Alice, Penny and Kady get to really, really know each other.

I am so into The Magicians right now. From a critical angle, the show is not perfect; its pacing could be better, its front-loaded season made the premise a bit inaccessible to start and its characters didn't start off especially likable. But The Magicians is confident, and that oozes out of every episode, from the ballsy premise of "The World in the Walls" to the easy chemistry between its leads.
