“Moss Piglets” perfectly encapsulates the transformation South Park has experienced in Season 21. It tells a fun, mostly standalone story that includes just enough continuity and topical references to keep things interesting. And following last week’s fairly underwhelming installment, it’s great to see this season getting back to that proven formula.
South Park rarely goes astray when it puts the spotlight on Jimmy and Timmy. Sometimes their nemesis Nathan wears out his welcome after a little while, but that wasn’t the case this week. Their science fair-induced rivalry made for a fun opening storyline. It’s a rivalry that works because it’s so ridiculously one-sided. Nathan seems to spend his entire life plotting against the duo, while it never once occurs to them that he’s anything other than a fellow science geek.
