What’s more entertaining than an animated story of a boy and his quest? A stop-motion animated story of a boy and his quest. From the studio that created ParaNorman, Coraline, and The Boxtrolls comes Laika’s newest film and sweeping 3-D epic, Kubo and the Two Strings. It’s not just the story that’s big either, but also the people behind the camera. From composer Dario Marianelli, to first time director, president and CEO of Laika Travis Knight, to the voices of Academy Award-winning and nominated actors like Charlize Theron, Matthew McConaughey, Rooney Mara, and Ralph Fiennes, Kubo and the Two Strings goes above and beyond both on and off screen.

Kubo and the Two Strings tells the story of a boy who discovers that his history, his powers, and his future are more complicated than he could have ever imagined. After uncovering the source of his mother’s worry that overwhelms her when the sun sets, Kubo is given a quest and with the help of Monkey and Beetle, he sets out to retrieve what once belonged to his father to conquer his family’s demons.
