Admittedly, I was prepared -- not determined, but prepared -- to not like "Delusion." Seemingly, it set out to be just a showcase for more ineffective Baal head games. The "schizoid embolism" scene from Total Recall (the original, der) stretched out over 30 minutes, if you will.
To an extent, it was just that. But the wrinkle here was that Baal managed to break Ash. He won. For now, sure, but Baal won. His shtick simply had not been working on Ash -- to the point where not only did I complain about it, but Ash himself even called Baal a "joke of a demon" this week -- but this time he stuck to his guns and pulled out a big win by convincing Ash that he WAS a psycho killer and had spent the last three decades in a mental hospital.
