Supergirl: "Changing" Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

There was a lot to be excited about in tonight’s installment of Supergirl - the debut of Parasite, Alex’s big coming out, Mon-El’s first go being a hero, Kara getting drunk, etc. But you’ll notice I didn’t mention anything about James Olsen’s debut as Guardian. James sure did his best to drag down what was otherwise a very enjoyable new episode.

It was a treat seeing a major Superman foe like Parasite make his Arrow-verse debut this week (played by Lost’s William Mapother) . That does make you wonder what Superman has actually been doing for the past decade if not battling villains like Metallo or Parasite, but whatever. Even better was the fact that the writers introduced Parasite via a pretty direct homage to John Carpenter’s The Thing, right down to the heroic doctor’s hands being swallowed by the alien body-snatcher. If anything, I would have liked that homage to be drawn out for an entire episode, but that probably would have made it harder to juggle the rest of this week’s many subplots.
