Well that was certainly a notable turn of events, wasn’t it?
Yes, “Bernard is actually a host” was a popular theory for those diving into such things since Westworld began, but honestly, this is a show that has people bringing up every possible theory – to a rather intense degree – that of course some will turn out to be true. And, let’s face it, on a show like this, you kind of knew that someone among the human staff would turn out to be a host eventually.
Personally, the Bernard/host theory isn’t one isn’t one I’d particularly been analyzing, and the reveal, regardless, played incredibly well – a powerful sequence filled with dread, as we not only learned Bernard’s true nature, but saw that Ford really was capable of going through with his threats, as he had Theresa killed without any hesitation.
