One of the great things about Jack Kirby's work is that he often blended the most outlandish, bombastic concepts with perfectly ordinary, mundane trappings. The intersection between the mighty gods of Asgard and the ordinary mortals of Earth is at the very heart of Marvel's Thor comics. It makes sense that there would be something of that juxtaposition at work in the Fourth World comics, too, as that mythology began life as an extension of the Thor franchise. That's a quality that tom King and Mitch Gerads tap into with the latest chapter of Mister Miracle, as the series works ever harder to blend the grandeur of the New Gods with the depressing day-to-day existence of Scott Free.
