The Radeon RX 480 ($175 - $250 on Amazon) is a watershed GPU for AMD, as it marks the arrival of the company’s all-new and much-anticipated Polaris architecture; it’s first ever built on a next-gen 14nm “3D” FinFET process. This is the platform the company will be using for at least the next two years, and is a massive leap forward in terms of performance-per-watt for AMD’s GPUs, with the company claiming it’s good for a 2.8x increase over the previous generation of cards.
