When AMD unleashed its Polaris architecture GPUs on the world, its opening salvo consisted of its RX 480 (Around $249 on Amazon), which was a VR-capable GPU designed for 1080p gaming at maximum settings. It then quickly followed up on the success of the 480 with a slightly detuned version dubbed the RX 470 ($170 - $200 on Amazon), with the logic being that an even more affordable Polaris GPU at $180 would allow more gamers to enjoy the fruits of AMD’s labor.
