Deadpool #15 Review

As far as Civil War II tie-ins go, Deadpool isn't exactly required reading. Though this issue features a fair amount of interaction between Deadpool and the precognitive wunderkind Ulysses, none of it has any real bearing on the larger event. But this issue is plenty amusing if nothing else. This particular arc is shaping up to be an entertaining detour before writer Gerry Duggan returns to to weightier matters.

Duggan divides this issue along two fronts. On one hand, the disgruntled Mercs for Money are fed up with being short-changed by Deadpool and take it upon themselves to earn some payback. I still question whether it's worth devoting so much attention to these characters when they now have their own series, but at least their antics are more entertaining than in issue #14. There's a certain appeal in seeing these degenerate mercenaries turn on each other before pulling together to direct their wrath against Deadpool.
