D.Gray-man is known for its intense action and dark drama, and Hallow’s second episode delivers that in spades. "Lonely Boy" not only continues to weave the web of mystery set up in the premiere, it also sees Allen Walker back with his pals at the Black Order battling against the Akuma in a heart-pounding showdown that pushes the exorcists to their limits.
The episode picks up right after the cliffhanger that concluded D.Gray-man Hallow's premiere. Allen's mentor General Cross Marian has been killed at the hands of an unknown culprit and panic ensues. The intro sequence was strong, and elevated by the unsettling tones from a piano playing in the background as a horrified Allen looked at the bloody scene in disbelief.
