Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.
Mad Hatter may have popped up right at the end (to kill a surrogate Alice and vow vengeance) and a grown-up Ivy may have had a small scene in the middle, but for the most part "Anything for You" was guest villain-free. Instead, it relied on the characters already in play to sell the underlying theme of loyalty and love, giving both Butch and Tabitha their best material in a long while.
Yes, I half-expected Butch to die in this one (and not get sprung at the end by Tabitha) since everything about Nygma's plot to trick him into making an attempt on Penguin's life felt like a decent end for the character. Undone by Riddler, betrayed as a traitor to his belligerent boss, it would have been a good death for Butch. A fine exit. It felt like curtains. But he lives on. Hopefully, he'll continue to remain relevant and not slink back to the sidelines.
