The Strain: "White Light" Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

It's becoming more obvious that The Strain is nearing closer not just to the end of the season, but the end of the line in general. "White Light" was the latest episode to shake up the series' status quo in a big way this season. And where just a few weeks ago it seemed as though our heroes had finally turned the tide against the Master, this episode made it clear that the deck is completely stacked against Eph and his allies.

"White Light" managed to juggle the show's ensemble cast better than most episodes, with subplots focused on Eph and Dutch, Setrakian and Fet, Quinlan and the Ancients and the eternally underutilized Gus and Angel. Plus, the ever enjoyable Eichorst enjoyed plenty of screen time. The only two conspicuously absent characters this week were Zach and Councilwoman Feraldo. With the former, I have to assume that his absence is intentional. The fact that Kelly reappeared sans makeup suggests that she's no longer worried about maintaining appearances around Zach, which is probably bad new for him. He'll probably return in the season finale via some major cliffhanger (possibly as the Master's new host body?).
