Supergirl: "The Last Children of Krypton" Review

Two weeks into the new season, I’m comfortable saying that Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman is the best thing to happen to this show since Melissa Benoist first donned her super-suit. The new season has brought with it a number of great changes, but nothing beats seeing Benoist and Hoechlin smiling and beating up bad guys.

This episode kicked off with their most charming team-up yet, as the two heroes utterly embarrassed a pair of would-be bank robbers and Clark cracked jokes about their poor tactical choices. Seriously, why would anyone think that fists would succeed where bullets and a moving car already failed? As much fun as Kara and Clark are together, it’s enough to wish that the series would be re-named “Supergirl & Superman” or something. But alas, the Man of Steel can’t stick around forever. Nor would we really want him to. That was one of the major themes at play this week. Granted, it was a little bizarre for one episode to end with Clark pledging to stick around for a while and then for him to almost immediately change his mind in the next, but he had to return to Metropolis sooner or later.
