Gotham: "Look Into My Eyes" Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

The "Great" Jervis Tetch (The Walking Dead's Benedict Samuel) -- aka The Mad Hatter -- arrived in Gotham this week in murderous fashion, hiring Jim Gordon to track down his scared, on-the-run sister, Alice (Naian Gonzalez Norvind).

Last season, the show winked at us with some Hatter foreshadowing when it seemed like Hugo Strange had become fascinated with giving his patients new personalities, and for a brief moment Lewis Carroll was mentioned. Presumedly then, Strange, in a flight of fancy, would take one of his blank canvasses and inject the "Mad Hatter" persona into it, creating a new version of the villain.

This turned out not to be the way Hatter entered the picture, though he still did have a connection to Indian Hill through Alice and her infected blood. What I liked the most about "Look Into My Eyes" was how the episode used Jim Gordon's ex-cop status to inform Jervis' story. As a famous bounty hunter now, Gordon was asked by the malicious hypnotist to find his missing sister and from there our bitter, boozy hero found himself in the middle of a dangerous, superpowered family spat - one that almost got him killed.
